Eyebrows Tattoo Pre-Care
To achieve the best results from your cosmetic tattoo, it's important to follow all pre-care instructions strictly. This helps minimize bleeding and skin sensitivity, which can impact pigment retention and cause uneven or patchy healing.
Before Your Appointment:
-
Skin must be free of irritation, including active breakouts, eczema, or psoriasis.
-
You must be off Accutane for at least 6 months prior to your appointment.
-
Discontinue blood-thinning supplements such as Fish Oil, Vitamin C, Glucosamine, Evening Primrose Oil, and Ginger at least 1 week prior. These can thin the blood and prevent proper pigment implantation.
-
Stop using skincare products containing Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHAs), Retinol, Vitamin A, or other active ingredients 30 days before your procedure. These ingredients can affect skin sensitivity and pigment retention—even if not applied directly on the brow area.
-
Avoid facials, chemical peels, microdermabrasion, microneedling, and laser treatments for 4 weeks before your appointment.
-
Avoid Botox or cosmetic injections in the forehead area 2 weeks prior to your procedure.
Medication Guidelines:
-
Avoid blood-thinning medications like Ibuprofen, Aspirin, Advil, Niacin, Voltaren, or Indocid for 72 hours prior—only if approved by your physician.
-
Also avoid Vitamin E, prenatal vitamins, and nutritional shakes before your procedure.
-
Tylenol may be taken if you need pain relief.
Additional Reminders:
-
No alcohol or caffeine (including coffee, energy drinks, or tea) for 24 hours before your appointment.
-
Do not work out on the day of your procedure, as it increases circulation and may cause excessive bleeding.
-
Avoid sun exposure and tanning beds for at least 2 weeks prior. Skin that is sunburned or recently tanned will need to heal before we can proceed—this will result in rescheduling and loss of your deposit.
-
Do not tweeze, wax, thread, tint, or perform electrolysis on the brow area for 1 week before your session.
-
Scars in the brow area must be fully healed for at least 1 year before tattooing.
-
Be aware: You may feel more sensitive during your menstrual cycle.
