EAR PIERCING
Clean, safe, and stylish—ear piercing is a quick procedure, but proper preparation and awareness of skin conditions help ensure safe and successful healing.
Before your appointment, please review the following:
-
Eat a light meal before your visit to prevent lightheadedness.
-
Stay well-hydrated, especially for children or clients prone to fainting.
-
Avoid alcohol, caffeine, and blood-thinning supplements or medications (aspirin, fish oil, vitamin E) for 24 hours prior unless prescribed by a physician.
-
Make sure your ears are clean and free from infections, cuts, or irritation.
-
Do not apply creams, oils, or makeup to the earlobes the day of your appointment.
-
Tie back long hair and avoid heavy accessories around the ears.
-
For children, please discuss the process with them beforehand and ensure they are emotionally ready and calm.
⚠️ Contraindications & Considerations
-
If you have a personal or family history of keloid scarring, please let us know prior to your appointment. Keloids are raised scars that may develop after skin trauma and can be a risk with any piercing.
-
We do not recommend piercing skin that has active eczema, dermatitis, psoriasis, or open wounds in the area.
-
Let us know if you have sensitive skin, metal allergies, or require hypoallergenic jewelry options (such as surgical stainless steel, titanium, or 14k gold).
-
If you are currently ill, on antibiotics, or under a medical treatment that impacts healing or immunity, please consider rescheduling for your safety.
Following these pre-care guidelines and communicating any medical concerns ensures a safe and smooth piercing experience. If you have questions before your appointment, feel free to contact us—we’re happy to help!
